If you are making claims for Universal Credit you could be entitled to Free School Meals
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are aware from the media that there has been a sudden increase in the amount of people making claims for Universal Credit and for many this will be for the first time in their working lives.
If you are one of the people that has recently made a claim or you think that you may have to do so in the near future we wanted to remind you that if you fall into the criteria detailed below you can also claim for free school meals for your child/ren.
Who qualifies for free school meals?
Children may be eligible for free school meals if their parents receive the following benefits: Universal Credit, provided the annual net earned income does not exceed £7,400 (£616.37 per month) Income Support. Income based Employment and Support Allowance.
A few parents have registered recently and are already receiving food vouchers as a result.
